How to Troubleshoot HP Smart AC Adapter Problems

An alternating current adapter transfers power from a wall outlet or power strip to the hp smart adapter. The AC adapter also charges the battery — which allows the computer to run for a short time without receiving power from an outlet — installed in the laptop. If the computer fails to turn on, the AC adapter or the battery could be defective. To troubleshoot power problems on the HP ac adapter, test the power cord and the battery separately.

Instructions:
1、Hold down the power button to turn off the HP battery charger. Remove the power adapter from the power jack.

2、Close the lid and turn the computer over. Push the release tab on the right to unlock the battery from its compartment.

3、Push the release tab on the left to eject the battery. Pull the battery from its compartment.

4、Connect the AC adapter to the AC power cable. Plug the power cable into a wall outlet or power strip. Connect an electronic device to the outlet to confirm the outlet works before connecting the AC adapter to it.

5、Insert the other end of the AC adapter into this HP adapter. Press the power button. If the computer fails to turn on, replace the AC adapter with a compatible model.

6、Turn off the computer and reinsert the battery into its compartment. Lock the battery in place.

7、Leave the AC adapter connected to the adapter for at least an hour.

8、Disconnect the AC adapter. Press the power button. If the computer fails to turn on, replace the battery with an identical model.

  1. Always let your battery run out at least once a month, keeps the battery's life longer
Increasing battery life is far more important on laptops and tablets Mr.SpareParts
