HP Pavilion DV4 Laptop Charger

<p>HP Pavilion DV4 Notebook, which delivers power and good times on the go. You could enjoy your favorite music with Beats Audio and chat face to face with a webcam that makes sure you look your best, even in low light. With the exclusive HP innovations, you will get automatic air conditioning for your laptop and help keep your data safe. Usually, handsome laptop needs handsome laptop charger,
laptop need power whenever and wherever it is being used, we need to keep it powerful.</p>

<p>18.5V 3.5A HP Pavilion DV4 charger has many kinds version in the mark, the original one made by HP Manufacturer; and the replacement one, it usually cheaper than the original one, but it could attract many attention. The replacement adapter usually works well as the original one. You just need to confirm three factors when you purchase an ac adapter for your laptop HP Pavilion DV4.</p>
<br/>
<p><strong>The power</p></strong>
<p>Please keep in mind, HP Pavilion DV4 laptop could be use at power condition 65Watt or less, more than it will disable your laptop, it is quite important.</p>
<br/>
<p><strong>The current or the voltage</p></strong>
<p>Since the power of the laptop equals the current mutiply by the voltage, if you could know the current/voltage, you will also get the voltage/current.
So you just need to confirm one of the two factors. For HP Envy DV4 laptop charger,it need output DC 18.5V 3.5A,it cofirm to work with your laptop.</p>

<p><strong>The DC Connecter size</p></strong>

<p>That is also quite important, bigger or smaller of the conncter size will be not used for your laptop.</p>

<p><strong>Tip for laptop charger</p></strong>

<p>To avoid overheating the AC adapter when powering the computer or charging the battery, use the AC adapter in a ventilated area, such as on a desktop or on the floor. Do not use the AC adapter in a poorly ventilated environment, such as inside a carrying case.</p>

<p><strong>Well Dispose the AC Adapter After You Use It</p></strong>

<p>Every electronical product has itself own lifespan, when the laptop charger can not work for you, please well dispose it and protect our environment. Since ac adapter will be water damage if it was thrown into the water and the end of the power supply lifespan, in order to protect our environment we need well dispose the power adapter after it used. At United Stated, many state has a law against the improper disposal of electronic equipment.</p>

Knowing The Separate Components Of Your DV6 Laptop’s Power Supply

The first thing that you need to consider when you are looking at your power supply is the power strip that you plug into the wall. This will help regulate the amount of power that goes into your computer and prevent potentially fatal power spikes. Many people think that they can skip this component of their laptop power supply, but once they lose a valuable electronic device due to a power surge, they often never go without.

The next thing in line is the HP DV6 charger. This is another point that helps regulate the amount of power going into your computer. It will also convert the alternating current from your wall socket and turn it into direct current that your computer will use to power the laptop as well as to charge the battery.

The other well-known name for an AC Power Adapter is battery charger or laptop battery charger. This is an important device providing you with laptop mobility and frees you of restriction from using the power cord. Check the link at the end of this article to find the correct DV6 AC Power Adapter for your laptop.

Once the power enters your laptop through the female adapter, the point at which your power cord ends and your laptop begins, the power is routed to the computer power board. This piece of hardware serves two functions: one to send power to the mother board; and two to send power to your battery for charging.

Another often overlooked piece of hardware that is part of your laptops power supply is the computer cooling fan. The cooling fan makes sure that your computer doesn't overheat. Overheating problems will cause your computer to power off at odd times. The processor for your computer is usually the element that will generate the most heat in your computer so if you ever decide to get a stronger processor, it is very important that you check and make sure that the computer cooling fan you have installed in your laptop is strong enough to properly cool your laptop.

What Is The Difference Between 65Watt and 90 Watt AC Adapter

A watt which measures laptop power is a unit of measurement for power. This particular unit could measure power, or capacity to do work. Watt’s law states that one watt (1W) is how much power is in an electrical circuit where one ampere (1A), or amp, of current flows across a difference of one volt (1V). AC adapters convert electricity in alternating current form from one voltage to another. If you are looking at two AC adapters that both convert, say, 120V AC to 12V AC, it can be confusing to see different wattage ratings (such as 65W vs. 90W) for the two adapters.

An AC adapter with a rating of 90 watts with an output of 12 volts AC will have a maximum electrical current output of 7.5 amps (12V x 7.5A = 90W). Therefore, an AC adapter with a higher power rating (measured in watts) will be able to supply more current to a device it’s connected to.

While an AC adapter with a higher power rating will allow for faster battery charging times and increased electrical loads, an AC adapter with a lower power rating may suffice, especially where there is a concern about excess heat or higher cost, for example, HP pavilion DV6 AC Adapter, it has two versions: DV6 65Watt AC adapter and DV6 90Watt AC adapter, abd the higher power adapter is better than the 65Watt at sometimes, users who like playing games or some sofeware which need much power to support to run will need the more powerful version.

Similarly, since the power rating is considered to be a “maximum allowable power” indication, an AC adapter may be used to power devices that are rated at or below their power rating. If a device requires 12V and 3A (36W), either the 65W or 90W power supply may be used to power it.

Cost may also be a factor. Usually, since AC adapters with a higher power rating must be capable of delivering more electrical current for the same amount of voltage, the components required to assemble an AC adapter must be more robust than that of a lower-power-rated AC adapter.

AC adapters with higher power ratings also give off more heat than adapters with lower power ratings. If excess heat is a consideration, an adapter with a higher power rating may not be suitable for the application.

Try these Steps To Verify If An AC Adapter Is Working Properly

Use the following steps to determine whether the AC adapter is working properly.
Step 1 – Examine the adapter, power cord and computer for physical damage.
Check the AC adapter and cords for physical damage such as fraying or cuts. Also examine the power adapter for signs of damage or overheating.
Check the DC connector pin on the computer to ensure that the pin is not bent or broken. If the pin is broken, contact HP for technical assistance.
Check if there are no obstructions or any foreign material inside the DC connector.
Check if center smart pin is straight and not slanting inside the DC connector.
Step 2– Verify the wall outlet is functioning
1,Unplug your AC Adapter from the wall outlet and plug in a small lamp or other device that you know is working fine.
2,If you’re using a power strip, follow the same directions as in the last step for your power strip.
3,If any of the wall outlets are not providing power then test the lamp or other device on a different wall outlet.
Step 3 – Disconnect and reassemble the power cord and AC adapter
Remove and reconnect the power cord from the AC adapter.
Reconnect the power cord to the AC adapter. Be certain that the AC cable is fitted tightly in to the AC adapter inlet.
CAUTION:Adapter may shutdown and remain without output due to conditions that can trigger Overcurrent, Overtemperature, and Short circuit. To recover the adapter output, unplug the adapter from the AC inlet for approximately 5 seconds and plug again.
Step 4 – Connect the AC adapter to the PC
1,Remove the primary (and secondary) battery from the notebook PC.
2,Plug the AC adapter directly into a functioning wall outlet. Do not plug into a power strip, surge protector or secondary power source.
3,Verify that the LED on the AC adapter is lit when plugged into an AC wall outlet.
NOTE:Some AC power adapters do not have an LED.
4,Connect the other end of the AC adapter into the computer.
5,Verify that all power cord connections are secure. If the AC adapter connection to the notebook is loose, the connector or system board may be damaged and require repair. Contact HP service and support for further assistance.
If the AC adapter is defective and the computer is in warranty, contact the manufacturer. If the computer is no longer in warranty, Ordering an Replacement AC Adapter .
Step 5 – Verify that the notebook receives power from the adapter
NOTE:On some HP notebooks, the LED lights do not indicate a power state. For other HP notebooks, there may be multicolor LEDs that do indicate different power states. To determine the functionality of the LEDs on the notebook, please refer to the user guide which came with the notebook.
With the AC adapter connected, look for any LED lights on the front, top or side of the notebook PC. If an LED light is on then the AC adapter is functioning properly.
Some notebook PCs have a power indicator light in the area near power connector. If this light is on then the AC adapter is functioning properly.
Step 6 – Look for the battery icon in the system tray
Windows will indicate if the AC adapter is working properly by changing the battery icon in the system tray.
1, check the battery icon.
2,With the AC adapter connected to the PC, the battery charging icon indicates that the AC adapter is working properly and has enough power.
If the AC adapter is defective and the computer is in warranty, replace the AC adapter with the appropriate spare part. If the customer needs a replacement AC adapter and the computer is no longer in warranty, Ordering an Replacement AC Adapter .
3,The AC adapter does not have enough power to charge the battery and provide power to run the notebook PC at the same time.
Instruct the customer to use the power adapter that came with the notebook PC for better performance. If the customer needs a replacement adapter, replace another ac adapter.

Laptop AC Power Adapter DC Connector Failure

A common weak spot on most laptops is the DC power jack. If someone trips on the wire while you have the power adaptor plugged into your laptop, chances are that the power jack will get damaged.
On most laptops the DC power jack is soldered directly to the motherboard and there are only three or four small pins holding it in place. Unfortunately that makes the power jack quite weak. Any sideways pulling of the DC power cord while attached to the laptop will usually dislodge at least one of these pins, breaking the solder around it. Modern laptops use quite a lot of power, from about 70W to 120W or even more. The bad electrical connection from the dislodged pin will cause sparks and heating that will eventually burn a hole through the motherboard and can even be a fire hazard. The usual signs of that are:

  • The battery is not charging properly or stays at half charge despite that you have been using the power adaptor.
  • The screen flickers (the brightness is changing) while the power cord is plugged in. This is caused by the laptop switching between DC power (screen is brighter) and battery power (screen is dimmer).
  • The DC plug gets hot after a few minutes of use and may even smell of burning.
  • There are “scratching” sounds coming from the DC jack.

  • All of these symptoms are caused by poor contact between the DC power jack and the motherboard.
There are several models of laptops that are resistant to this problem. All older Dell laptops that use the three pin DC power jack are usually not affected, probably because the power cord pops out easier. Also some older Sony Vaio models, and 1-2 Toshiba models where the DC jack is attached to the case away from the motherboard and all new Apple laptops, where the DC power cord is magnetically attached to prevent any damage to the laptop if someone trips on it.
To test for broken power jack: 1,Remove the battery 2,Plug in the ac adapter 3,Start the laptop 4,Gently wiggle the DC power plug on the back of the laptop
If your laptop shuts down abruptly (looses power), find a repair shop that can resolder or change the DC power jack as soon as possible, as the motherboard has already started to burn around the dislodged pins. Some repair shops will offer to replace the whole motherboard, however the price of a new motherboard together with the labour charge for installing it will usually be greater than the current value of your laptop and can go well over a thousand dollars.
Replacing or re-soldering the DC power jack is not an easy job too. It usually takes two to three hours depending on the damage and the model of the laptop. To reach the power jack, the laptop has to be completely disassembled and the motherboard taken out. Then if the board around the dislodged pin is badly burned, the power jack has to be un-soldered and the board has to be patched. After that a different power jack has to be installed, attached to the case of the laptop and connected with wires to the motherboard, as the patched board wouldn’t be strong enough to support the original type of power jack that was soldered directly to the board.

DC Power Jack Repair Guide – Do-it-Yourself Instructions

This guide will explain how to repair a failed or loose DC power jack on a HP laptop computer yourself, some of us may think that is the hp smart adapter question if the charger can not fit the laptop DC jack well, few of us may know the question could be also from the laptop.
"Disclaimer: I've made these instructions only for people experienced with soldering and repairing computers. If you don’t feel comfortable doing this job, please do not open the laptop or you can permanently damage your computer. Take your laptop to a professional repair shop instead."
"For this repair you’ll need the following tools."

  • Soldering iron or soldering station. I use Weller WES51 soldering station and for this job I set temperature to about 800-850°F.
  • I use high-tech rosin core silver-bearing solder from Radioshack with diameter 0.022″ ( Catalog #: 64-013 ). I think standard rosin core solder will work just fine.
  • Desoldering pump for removing solder around component leads. I use Edsyn Soldapullt pump, model DS 017.
  • 99% isopropyl alcohol and tooth brush for cleaning the motherboard from flux.
  • A new DC power jack, you can find a cheap one here.

  • As you see on the following picture, the solder drop on the positive terminal looks different than on other three contacts. That’s where the problem is. The positive pin is not making a good contact with the motherboard and because of that power to the laptop cuts off when I move the power plug inside the power jack.
I’m going to solder the power jack from the motherboard, clean contacts on both power jack and motherboard and then solder it back in place – this is the proper way fixing the power problem.
Start desoldering process with adding some new fresh solder to all three contacts. This will make old solder more flowable, easier to remove.
While heating one of the contacts, remove the solder from this contact using the desoldering pump. Repeat the same steps with all power jack contacts until you remove as much solder as possible.
Grab the power jack and carefully try removing it from the motherboard. Most likely you will not be able to remove the power jack the first time because there will be some solder bridges left between the contacts and traces on the motherboard. Carefully wiggle the power jack without applying any significant force and at the same time heat up all contacts one by one. This will help you to remove the power jack.
The DC power jack is almost removed from the motherboard.
Be careful. Inside the positive hole there is a copper sleeve which connects the terminal on one side of the motherboard with the traces on the other side. If you are removing the power jack with force, you can pull the sleeve from the hole. You don’t want to do that.
UPDATE: If you accidentally removed the internal sleeve, check out this post: How to fortify damaged power jack connection.
So, do not apply any force and make sure the solder is melted when you are removing the power jack. I hope you understand what I’m talking about.
After the power jack is removed, clean all oxidized contacts with a knife.
Apply a fresh coat of solder to all contacts on the power jack.
The power jack terminals will look dirty because of melted flux.
You can remove the flux using the tooth brush and alcohol. It’s not necessary but it will make your job looking clean.
Apply a fresh coat of solder to all power jack terminals on both sides of the motherboard.
    This side has been coated.
And this side has been coated too.
Now you can install the power jack back on the motherboard. Put something under power jack so there is no gap between the jack and the motherboard. Now you are ready to solder the jack back in place.
    Solder all power jack pins.
The job is done and the laptop DC power jack is fixed. B-E-A-utiful! Now just install the motherboard back into the laptop and you are done.

Some Common Issues In Laptop Chargers That You Should Take Care

There are some electronic devices which conk off without any advance warning whatsoever. The device would be in use and will be working well when something would go wrong and it would never start again. Thankfully, laptop chargers do not belong to this category. Instances of the charger simply conking off without any advance warning. Are very rare? More often than not, people realize that they did observe that something was wrong with the laptop chargers but had ignored the same. If you want to avoid complications, just focus on the following issues relating to laptop chargers when you are using the same.
    Overheating
This is an obvious indication that something is or can go wrong with your charger. Overheating is a clear indication that you are not using the HP P/N 463957-001 charger as it is supposed to be used. The processor in your laptop has a fan designed specifically to keep it cool. This is because the manufacturers are aware that it is impossible to prevent the processor from heating up. However, they do not anticipate any such issue with chargers. The fact that your charger is overheating without any obvious issue means that you should focus on how you use it and how it is being maintained.
    Inefficient Performance
After overheating, this is the most common issue that helps people discover that something is wrong with the HP laptop P/N 463957-001 charger. Of course, this also indicate that the battery of your laptop may be conking off. Laptop batteries are designed to last for years at a stretch. Even with rough usage, you should not face any problems with batteries in a span of just 6 to 8 months after purchase of the laptop. However, there is a possibility of chargers conking off in such a short period of time. You would be the unlucky if the battery is to be blamed for lack of proper charging of the laptop. However, you have the option of getting the battery replaced if it is the still under warranty. Laptop chargers do not come with a long warranty and you may have no option but to replace the same by paying for new chargers out of your pocket.
    Irregular Performance
Laptop chargers that do not start charging the computer as soon as they are inserted into the slot are best checked as early as possible. This may indicate a loose contact inside the charger that may be preventing the device from operating properly. People face this problem with the 463957-001 charger immediately after it has been dropped or handled badly. These devices are strong and hardy but there is absolutely no guarantee that the charger will continue performing properly after such an incident. There is a simple and fundamental rule that you must follow if you want to tackle problems with laptop chargers before they become very serious. Never ever delay the process of finding a solution. The moment you see something is wrong with the charger, you should proceed ahead and try to find a solution for the same. Ignoring the problem can cause issues with not just the charger in question but the laptop as a whole.

What To Do When You Own A Non-Working AC Adapter

The ac adapter is an essential part of a laptop. When used improperly by us, it is very easy to be out of working. But don’t throw it at once and Don’t be in panic. Here are some tips for the non-working laptop charger. Like my Acer Aspire One ZA3 AC Adapter, I have mended it for several times when there are some flaws affecting the normal working. The sooner we fix it, the less we lost. So please take a deep look at the potential reasons of a non-working laptop AC adapter.
Firstly, You have to make sure you are using the right laptop AC adapter for your computer. This sounds stupid for some laptop users. But there are some users having this by mistake. Though it seems that this is harmless, it does affect the battery. Make sure you have the exact laptop ac adapter. Don‘t take HP 463957-001 AC Adapter for HP 412786-001 AC Adapter. It doesn't match.
Secondly, The laptop battery wears out from the excessive use. When you plug in, the adapter don't charge or charge slowly due to the bad laptop battery. In this case, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the charger itself.
Thirdly, The wiggled wire might lead to a non-working laptop AC adapter such as Presario NC6230 AC Adapter and ThinkPad X40 AC Adapter . Sometimes we left the laptop AC adapter rampantly somewhere. After several times, the cable inside that got broken keep it from transmitting power. This will ruin the efficiency of the charger in no time.
Any of the possibilities may lead to a non-working laptop AC adapter as well as your laptop. It’s hard to tell the exact cause. For most laptop users, they couldn't solve it. Instead, the repair house is a better choice to save your laptop AC adapter. Depending on your budget, you can get a new one or repair it. It’s troublesome to have a laptop AC adapter stop working. This will interrupt our regular work and recreation that we undertake on the laptop.
Now, we know what to do when our ac adapter is out of working. Just attempt to find out the real issue and find out the solution to solving it.

How to Troubleshoot HP Smart AC Adapter Problems

An alternating current adapter transfers power from a wall outlet or power strip to the hp smart adapter. The AC adapter also charges the battery — which allows the computer to run for a short time without receiving power from an outlet — installed in the laptop. If the computer fails to turn on, the AC adapter or the battery could be defective. To troubleshoot power problems on the HP ac adapter, test the power cord and the battery separately.

    Instructions:
1、Hold down the power button to turn off the HP battery charger. Remove the power adapter from the power jack.

2、Close the lid and turn the computer over. Push the release tab on the right to unlock the battery from its compartment.

3、Push the release tab on the left to eject the battery. Pull the battery from its compartment.

4、Connect the AC adapter to the AC power cable. Plug the power cable into a wall outlet or power strip. Connect an electronic device to the outlet to confirm the outlet works before connecting the AC adapter to it.

5、Insert the other end of the AC adapter into this HP adapter. Press the power button. If the computer fails to turn on, replace the AC adapter with a compatible model.

6、Turn off the computer and reinsert the battery into its compartment. Lock the battery in place.

7、Leave the AC adapter connected to the adapter for at least an hour.

8、Disconnect the AC adapter. Press the power button. If the computer fails to turn on, replace the battery with an identical model.

A Story About Purchasing HP Smart Adapter

I like repairing stuff, all kinds. When I was a kid, I repaired radios and motors, my parents always encourage me doing so even if I dismantle a good appliance just for study.I run a electronics repair shop after college, by my own. Everybody says I'm finical but I cannot say it's bad, I cannot bear a slight glitch of electronics. My business is successful, more than I can say, is due to this annoying personality.
I have 62 employees, they're hard working people with a keen sense of quality control. I known that I'm not the vigorous lad anymore, so I hand over the parts purchase work to my best disciple, he's a good. One day he came into my office and handed me a project proposal, one clause is about to give every customer a charger for free when they retrieve their laptops.
Forgot to mention, the main activity of our business is repairing laptops, we repair about 170 units of laptops per day.
I think this is a good idea, so we run this project immediately. Then, the problem is where can we get quality power cords. He's good, he did not just buy 1000 adapters from one place, he purchased 19 units from 19 different sellers, then we did a lots of test with professional equipments. He wrote down every data and compare with them, unfortunately 7 out of the 19 cannot withstand the tests, they died. 2 adapters standed out after 3 days of testing, you cannot believe that they're not the most expensive one.
We contaced both sellers for mass purchase, one seller did not have sufficient products in stock, so we got our number one.
It's good to share wonderful stuff with others, I believe you can get a reliable power adapter you want from an online shop if you have yet to repair your laptop from us.
The most popular models are HP ed495aa and HP 609939-001, we have purchased 3000 HP parts from them without problem. Our customers love these parts. HP AC adapters are different, most of them are smart type,a smart AC Adapter is a power source compatible with hp smart adapter that uses the Smart-Pin technology. The adapter itself allows you to charge the laptop battery, while the Smart-Pin technology saves energy by cutting down on power consumption when too much power is unnecessarily used.
Hope my experiences can give you a way to find a reliable power cord for your laptop.

Why Laptop HP Smart Adapter Still Can Not Work After Replacing Battery And Adapter?

Laptop ac adapter can not charge for your laptop to perform? Many friend around me encountered this problem. "I've replaced both battery and AC Adapter, but why it still could not charge?” Maybe you are one of those who are complaining.

Broken battery and AC adapter are the most common reason while there is another one that most people would neglect : Loose or Broken DC Power Jack.

Symptoms of a broken DC power jack:
  • The laptop only operates when you hold the DC power plug in a certain direction (DC jack is broken or loose).
  • The laptop only runs on battery power (no power is getting through the DC jack).
  • The laptop gets no power at all.
  • The laptop will not charge the battery.
  • The laptop switches from AC power to battery power intermittently due to a loose or broken power jack.
  • The laptop suddenly shuts off.
  • The DC jack may feel loose.
  • parks come out of the back of the laptop when you insert the power plug into the DC jack.

  • How some repair centers handle DC jack repair:

Most service centers don’t want to deal with this problem by attempting to repair the DC jack. Many, including the large nationwide stores and the laptop’s manufacturer, will either tell you the machine is not repairable or that they will need to replace the motherboard. These quotes usually run from $250 to as much as $800. They choose to ignore the fact that a broken DC power jack can be repaired without a motherboard replacement because they are not equipped with the tools or training to do DC power jack repair on your laptop.

    How a DC jack breaks:
  • The HP Smart Adapter jack on most models of laptops do not have enough reinforcement within the structure of the casing and motherboard to handle the stress caused by movement of the power plug.
  • Some DC jacks simply fail under normal operation of your computer. After a year or two of usage, parts just come loose on certain models.
  • Sometimes the laptop gets dropped and the plug jerks the DC jack loose.
  • People, pets and vacuum cleaners trip over laptop power cords and break the DC power jack.
  • The laptop is moved around a lot. After the DC jack is moved back and forth enough times, it comes loose.
  • In some cases the DC jack was not soldered onto the motherboard well by the manufacturer.

What To Do if HP laptop Won’t Turn On Even When Charger Plugged In?

You may feel very confused and frustrated that our laptop won’t turn on even when we plug in the charger and press the laptop switch button.I believe most of us have encountered this situation. Yes, it is a common phenomenon. While what can we do to fix this issue? There could be several problems that keep your laptop from turning on. However, most times, the solution is quite simple. You might want to try out the following tips.

  • Ensure your battery is holding power. Some laptops will auto shut-off if the battery won’t hold a charge. In that case, replace your battery and retry. Check your charging lights or indicators to see if your laptop is getting power and charging.

  • Check your AC to DC converter, it is the little black adapter you plug in your AC outlet. This converts AC power into DC power. Is it abnormally hot? If so, it is probably burned out. Replace it. And we should be noted high heating is not the only indicator of malfunctioning, it also can be dead and cold as well. No power indicators on your laptop could be a sign of a dead or bad converter also. Converters will get hot which is a mornal signature. If it is too hot to touch, then this is not good.

  • Check your power cord. Are there nicks or cuts? If so, unplugg it from the AC power and repair with electrical tape- better yet, replace it. Many computer salvage stores carry power adapter cords. They’re cheap.

  • Check your laptop lid switch. If it is broken, you may have power but your screen may not come on. This is usually a little button or mechanism located close to the lid hinge that turns on or off your screen when your lid is open or closed respectively. Normally the operator does not push this button. These are fragile and broken easily on some laptop models. Sometimes these can be fixed, more often they will require replacements. If you aren’t an expert repair person, get a technician to repair/replace it for you. Opening up laptops is a very delicate operation and much more difficult to repair than desktops. It may be worth it to spend the money for repair.

  • Another possible cause is the laptop DC power jack that is the socket where you plug the HP P/N 463958-001 Smart AC Adapter, it is fail, you should remove the motherboard and take a closer look at the power jack. In some cases you can fix the jack by resoldering it on the motherboard. In other cases you have to replace the jack with a new one. Using a multimeter, test if the power goes to the motherboard through the jack.

  • If you have tried these easy solutions and it still won’t power on, then your problem lies elswhere. You may have an internal power switch or voltage regulator problem.. Internal problems will require professional help.

Disconnect Laptop Charger From Socket After Work

Different users have different using habits when they use laptop for working and study so that the laptop system and Li-ion battery will perform differently from each other in many aspects. After completing work on the laptop, many people have not unplugged the AC adapter from the motherland computer to provide it a good rest to cool down and save power energy, that is not good for the power adapter to have a long span and at the same time, actually, the radiation of the charging adapter is also very powerful if not disconnected.

After shut down, the whole computer device will have a full rest without getting any power energy from external resources and there is less radiation will be released to harm our health. As a matter of fact, the lithium-ion batteries won’t be charged after being full even though the power supply is connected with it. Of course, if the battery is not full, the charger will supply power energy to the battery after full.

Why the plug and pin are of high work temperature even if the laptop computer is off?

It is truth that when the laptop is shut down, the adapter is also working. Of course, the mains supply won’t reach other laptop accessories rather than the adapter itself. The self-charging has occurred to the adapter as long as the socket is connected with the plug pins. If possible, users had better disconnect HP P/N 609939-001 smart ac adapter and cool it down to maintain the whole charger in good performance to get longer lifespan.

The dangerous influence from laptop AC adapter in radiation.

As it is known to all, radiation is harmful to our health while that of HP P/N 609939-001 smart ac adapter is powerful enough if users haven’t unplugged the charger when sleeping every day. Of course, it will also waste electric charge to some extent. If the battery happens to be deep discharge, users can leave some power energy inside and then disconnect it from outlet. It is unnecessary to fully charge the batteries every time.

Why Is HP ED494AA Laptop AC Adapter makeing Noises?

Laptop AC adapters, while generally very quiet, do emit a small amount of noise. Generally, this noise is within the parameters of the adapter’s normal operation, but variance of the sound or new noises may indicate a malfunction.

  • Normal Operation

  • A high-frequency sound from the AC adapter like HP ED494AA is normal. The sound may often be too high-pitched or too quiet to hear, though it may increase in volume after long periods of connection. And If the output of an adapter exceeds 120 Watt, there would be a built-in fan for the adapter to cool down the main box. In some cases, the fan maybe annoying but it's really useful for people to get rid of fire hazard.

  • Warning Sounds

  • Some adapters come equipped with an internal sound, often a consistent beeping, to warn the user of incorrect operation. Adapters acting in this way may not supply power correctly to the laptop, and should be replaced.

  • Other Sounds

  • While some noise is normal, a sudden change in the consistency or type of noise may be indicative of a problem. A snapping sound, for instance, can accompany an electrical problem. HP ed494aa Adapter displaying abnormal noises should be repaired or replaced, as damaged adapters pose a risk of electrical shock.

    Use Laptop AC adapter Efficiently

Many people use laptop day and and night, and it becomes an neccessity for human beings. For them, and since laptop charger is also a must for a laptop to work, no chagrer, no work. And we know electronic products at some degree are easy to be broken, so we should take care of our chargers and batteries, and also use them efficiently.
Some tips as the following will tell us how to use laptop charger well, and below take my hp mini 110 adapter as an example.

  • Keep water away from the adapter. As we know, the laptop AC adapter is small and it can be taken with the user very easily. But the structure in the inside of it is very dedicated and compact. If it is fallen into water or flooded in water, that will get into the inside of it and the adapter may not work as usual because the inside part is damaged and the electricity can’t be connected to the laptop well. Sometimes the AC adapter will get shut off suddenly. So please keep the laptop AC adapter far away from water.
  • Keep it cool. Many people pay a lot attention to the heat of their laptop and usually take many measures to keep the heat elimination good. But there are few people to take good care of that of their AC adapter. In fact, laptop AC adapter get hotter as the laptop is used. If the heat elimination is not good, the laptop AC adapter is damaged easily. So remember not to put the laptop AC adapter on the cotton or some other things where the heat elimination is not good.To avoid overheating the AC adapter when powering the computer or charging the battery, use the AC adapter in a ventilated area, such as on a desktop or on the floor. Do not use the AC adapter in a poorly ventilated environment, such as inside a carrying case.
  • Do not charge and discharge it often. The cord and the power suplier will be seperated and very loose.
  • Know the part number. If you by accident destroy your adopter, know the number which is printed at the adapter box and quite esay to find. Then you can get a replacement efficiently. And check the reviews and the stars represent by the customers.
